Najredji automobil ikada vidjen na NASCAR stazama.
Tucker 48 (cesto nazvan Tucker Torpedo) je bio veoma futuristicki automobil dostupan samo za modelsku godinu 1948. pre nego sto je kompanija otisla u stecaj zbog serija tuzbi. Bio je izuzetno napredan za svoje vreme - posebno na racun bezbednosti, cesto se naziva "americkim Citroenom DS".
Napravljeno je samo 50 primeraka, plus jos 2 su kasnije sastavljena od ostatka delova i jedan sporni kabriolet.
Vlasnik salona Red Harris iz Pittsburgha je odlucio da se na kratko takmici u NASCAR-u radi promocije. Vozac je bio Joe Merola, vozio je 2 trke u 1950. sezoni. Automobil se cesto oslavljava kao Tucker 1004 po broju sasije, sto znaci da je ukupno cetvrti Tucker ikada proizveden.
30. maj, 1950: Canfield Motor Speedway (Ohio) - morao da odustane u 1. krugu zbog mehanickih problema.
9. jul, 1950: Monroe County Fairgrounds (Rochester, NY) - takodje odustao sredinom trke zbog mehanickih problema.
Automobil je posle vracen u "stock" stanje, nekoliko puta je menjao vlasnike, od 1991. godine se nalazi u Toyotinom muzeju u Japanu.

Nekada je plan bio da se originalni Auto Club Speedway srusi, dobar deo zemljista proda, a na ostatku napravi novi short track.
NASCAR Centel kaze da od ovoga nema nista - da je NASCAR nedavno prodao taj preostali mali deo (planiran za short track) i da ce na tom mestu biti izgradjeni punjaci za elektricne automobili.
Bilo je lepo dok je postojao...

i zato nema vozača sa personalitijem kao pre što je bilo
osim buša njemu se jebe za sponzore
