I started watching more NHRA this year because I did not want Amazon prime and wanted to see racing. To my surprise Mr Hendrick was there, enjoying himself and sponsoring three winning teams. Rick Ware has a two car team. If Nascar wants to force people to spend extra money to watch , people can watch other forms of racing and be happy.

Tv ratings are down but at track attendance seems to be holding steady or somewhat improving. I think putting a majority of the cup races on cable channels is killing viewership and is a terrible choice for the long term health of the sport.

Amazon je bukvalno nudio besplatan Prime za tih 5 trka koje su prenosili. Ali neki ljudi su previse tupavi da to ukapiraju.

Ja zaista ne vidim u cemu je problem. NASCAR-ov sajt ti bukvalno kaze na kom je programu. Ako propustis trku zato sto si lenj da provedes 10 sekundi na sajtu da vidis da li je NBC ili USA ili TNT ili F1 - je*iga, ne znam sta da kazem takvima.

Blaming the NFL is completely bogus. Me, my dad and brother watched NASCAR every weekend in the 90's. At the same time time, teams like the 49ers, Green Bay and our beloved Cowboys were all drawing huge numbers putting on epic games. NASCAR was easy to find on either ESPN or TNN, and almost every track they went to had added new grandstands since the last race. The NFL is not the culprit.

Just remember, these ratings began plummeting after the 5 races on Prime. People who don’t have Prime didn’t miss Nascar and simply stopped watching. And as someone who opposes sports streaming exclusivity, it brings me great joy to see Nascar’s grand scheme of trying to get us all to fork over even more than we already pay for cable fail!

I’ve only watched the OTA and prime races this year, because I don’t have and will not get cable. However, I’ve listened to every other race on the radio, and I have developed a fondness for MRN and PRN. They do a great job Describing the races, make them exciting, and allowing me to get some work done instead of being stuck to the couch and TV.

Going from Prime back to network TV was like going from Salma Hayek to Caitlyn Jenner. I use hyperbole for effect but, the slide isn't of mysterious causes. 1990s ESPN and 2000s FOX/NBC aren't standards we're going to see on cable ever again.

When it was FREE people watched. When it's on PAY cable- people aren't that much interested in cars turning left for a few hours. Put a fork in it- NASCAR is done.

I find it impossible to even be able to access some of these races. The night of Bristol I was in a hotel that had full service cable and I couldn't find the race at all. Scrolled through 300+ channels

Back in the 90s I worked in the shop of 12 guys and probably 10 of the 12 followed NASCAR closely and discussed on Monday what happened on Sunday. I now work in a maintenance shop of 16 and I am the only one that watches more than one or two races per year. People just don't care about it anymore especially the under 40 crowd. Most of the ones I work with don't care much about any sports anymore.

I’ve been watching NASCAR since 1969 and I can tell you what we watch today is not NASCAR. Today we watch a sanitized version of spec cars racing around cookie cutter tracks on an insanely stupid amount of different channels and streaming services, what wizard came up with this dumb ass idea.
Also, the playoff system is totally ridiculous.
Not only aren’t people watching the races but the stands are always half empty. If NASCAR continues on this course, they’ll be racing just for the pit cruise because no one will be in the stands or watching.
It's a shame how far this one great sport has fallen, the sanctioning body has just about killed it for me and many other old fans.

I can't afford to watch NASCAR anymore. To see everything I would need premium cable or satellite service plus several streaming apps. It's ridiculous.

The product sucks! I used to watch everything starting from 1985 and now I couldn't even tell you where the next race is or how to watch it. I've steadily lost interest since stages and playoffs were introduced. The cars changing every single week doesn't help but they have no choice because sponsorships don't stick either.

I was a new fan in 2019 and quit watching this year. Everything in NASCAR feels so pointless, you can win 15 races a season and still get knocked out round one. There are also way too many commercials

Another factor that I think is under the radar is a lot of people still listen to radio, and I don’t think those numbers are being factored in as well. Hell, I pretty much listened to the entire first half of the year on MRN/PRN because I couldn’t stand FOX’s coverage.

I watch almost every Xfinity race because it's free OTA TV on local CW.

I watch almost no truck or cup races because they are on cable channels like FS1 and USA and Fox sports


They only cup races I watched were on Prime


I watch NFL Sunday, Monday and Thursday because they are free OTA for almost 10 hrs straight on Sunday. 4 hours Monday night and 4 hours on OTA or Prime on Thursday night


So NASCAR and their cable races can suck it..

Great video! I used to be a big NASCAR fan, but I am now like the Tree. Very casual. I would add a few opinions. The current cars detract from the product. These are spec cars, not stock cars. Think about the rich history and there is no innovation (er cheating now). Less fun, less creativity. The Revenuers won. Really no compelling drivers. No Earnhardts or Gordons or Waltrips. These guys were larger than life. You tuned in just to see them. I have switched over to F1. What an incredible product they have right now. Specs but tons of innovation. The top half of the grid is filled with compelling drivers. I will admit Max is saving their product this year. Two hour long Monza race and their qualifying is incredible. No Playoff. Take a look, NASCAR.

For 2 yrs i've been telling you all that trying to get all races on subscription tv is bad for fans. They are TELLING you with their remote controls. Now its time for napcar to stop the BS. Fans support companies that support racing, not subsciption tv services.

E zato ja tražim isključivo ovale od 1,5 milja i veće kao pre IRL što je vozio. To su brze i žestoke trke. Short ovale i road staze izbaciti.

Mislim meni nije jasno šta će Nascar na road stazama kad je na tom polju Formula 1 kraljica. Šta će Nascar na short ovalima kad su oni midgeti za to kraljevi.

NASCAR crapped out in about 1989 or so - when all the cars become the same “template” shape. Moving the numbers forward ( from the door ) - to get more room for the sponsors - was just another desperate attempt for “relavance”. And couple this with the fact that the “regular car” market has largely been legislated out-of-existentance by government crash regulations, makes Mustangs, Camaros, Chargers and Camrys only “relevant” to about 2-5% of the car buying public. What’s next “SUV-CAR” racing? Chevy Traverses and Ford Explorers? It’s about demographics, SUV’s and Gen X,Y & Z. Today’s races just AREN’T AS GOOD and Richard Petty vs David Pearson. Those giants of the sport would be considered “Toxic masculinity” in today’s woosie-world. They don’t even have lug nuts anymore….no passenger car produced has a single center knockoff nut. It makes it even more irrelevant to anyone today. You might as well just call it the “British Touring Car Championship” Thats about as much in common with a Mustang or Camaro as a bumblebee with a frog.

The problem is NASCAR is chasing past successes and trying too many gimmicks. ESPN said that 1.1 million people tuned in to watch the Azerbaijan GP which started at 7 am EST. IndyCar is gaining in popularity and now Colton Herta is going to Formula 2 and Cadillac joining the F1 grid next year. NASCAR feels like a relic of the 20th century that's still lumbering on trying to replicate its past greatness when people thought they could legit challenge the NFL. I don't know if there is one single answer to fix it, but my suggestion is do the races really need to 400 or 500 miles? Give me a shorter, tighter race. Each race has one thing in common with the season as a whole. You tune in for the start then go do something else and then come back for the very end because the middle doesn't matter.

- Young people don't care about 40 identical cars turning left for 4 hours every weekend (4 hours of which 2 hours are under a yellow flag).
- From the above, the remaining audience for NASCAR is old and is dying year after year.
- NASCAR doesn't even have a superstar to attract people or draw attention.

- Speaking of young people, they prefer variety. What does variety offer? Endurance. They see cars they can buy racing around the world with immensely better scenery than an oval that looks like a shoebox.
And not only that, each series puts quality content on their YT channels, not to mention the entire races live... so they can be seen AROUND THE WORLD.

NASCAR is a Yankee sport, for Yankees... stuck in time.
And the France family and their monopoly don't care as long as they make millions.

1: Too many ads. They literally moved the number on the door to make room for more ads.
2: Connections to driver/personalities. Every driver gets out and reads from a prewritten practiced promo like wwe. gimme a break...
3: Its clear at this point its more about money than anything else and the fans can see right through the charade.
4: Brand loyalty. How many people still think of M&M when you hear Kyle Busch, or Lowes with Jimmie? Now they drive different schemes every week, which points back to the first three problems.

ALSO Nascar wont listen to any of us. Go down this comments section and read ALL the problems we have with this sport and find one thats new. Weve had the same complaints for YEARS and get shut out by the higher ups because "they know everything". Its tiresome and were clearly just pay pigs to nascar.

Cable got too expensive, so I haven't had it for years. Been watching via YouTube replay in the nascar channel, and live on Prime since (best move). Should just have an official platform to watch all races. Not sure why they don't embrace an idea of having live streaming for a fee.

NASCAR is becoming a radio sport to me. Just like the other pro leagues, the fragmentation of all the streaming services just kills the must see element. I can find the MRN or PRN call right on satellite in the same place all year no matter who is televising it. I still get the romantic roar of the engines, then if something exciting happens I can catch it on YouTube within 30 minutes of conclusion.
